Autonomous Lift Station Controller ALS-v1

An integrated controller for mission-critical wastewater infrastructure. Autonomous pump sequencing, real-time fault detection, and full industrial electrical telemetry — all monitored through IoT Connect.

Core logic

4-Digital Input Float Monitoring

Four discrete float switches drive autonomous pump sequencing logic. Each input represents a critical water level threshold that triggers specific operational responses.

Wet well cross-section

Demonstration: water level rises and falls; LEDs and cards highlight as each float is submerged.

HIGH FLOAT CRITICAL

Alarm — triggers emergency protocols and operator alerts via IoT Connect

LAG FLOAT ACTIVE

Activates secondary pump to assist primary during high inflow

LEAD FLOAT NORMAL

Activates primary pump — standard operational cycle begins

LOW FLOAT STANDBY

All pumps off — prevents dry-run cavitation damage

Reliability

Contactor Verification

The ALS-v1 continuously compares commanded relay states with actual power flow through each pump circuit. Any discrepancy triggers an immediate fault condition with alert escalation through IoT Connect.

Welded Contactor Detection

Identifies contactors stuck in closed position after de-energization command

Open Circuit Fault

Detects when commanded ON but no current flow — broken wire, blown fuse, or failed contactor

Mechanical Failure Alert

Pump commanded ON with power flowing but no measurable change in wet well level
